96: Soaked

96: Soaked

The rain crashes down
And terror zings through you
As you realise that
You’ve left the washing outside

Rain pitter-pattering on
Your head
Soaking your feet and
Your nightshirt

Bizarre laughter erupts
From you, fingers fumbling
To tug the clothes down
From the lines

Soaked to the bone
Dripping wet
Neglectful of the washing
Laughing maniacally
