117: Thunder

117: Thunder

Sweltering summer day, followed by intense lightning
Which is then followed by tremendous thunder
So powerful and crackling like unrestrained electricity
I haven’t been frightened since I was a young child

It’s so close to my house
I can barely count a second passing between the flash
And the sound
Before it spits hateful electrical language at me

Someone made the gods angry tonight
Someone make it go away
The sky is overcast like a foreboding apocalypse
The ominous clouds drive so quickly across the sky
